Start this book and nothing is going to be as significant as the story of the girl, the King and the monster they became. This is not just a romantic story with made up names and a singular supernatural element. It’s romantasy, yes, but the fantasy delivers! A very interesting magic system, solid worldbuilding, strong characters, beautiful writing, an engaging story and perfect pacing. This was an absolute blast, I couldn’t put it down. I was living in this book and would only leave it when forced. As always I would have preferred this as an adult fantasy, because gothic themes work so much better without an age limit. This book introduces a great magic system and is overall very well written and an enjoyable read. The characters are likeable and the story is medium- to fast paced. One of the best books, if not the best, I read in 2023. ...weiterlesen
