Ich mag es nicht wenn von Opern oder Symphonien kurze Stücke herausgenommen werden und die Ausblendung der Musik ohne jedes Musikverständnis erfolgt oder mit gesprochenen Text überdeckt wird. Bei dieser DVD werden nur kurze Stück angespielt aber der ganze Film wurde mit so viel Einfühlungsvermögen gestaltet, dass es das reinste Vergnügen ist. Die Kommentare sind hochinteressant und stammen von Größen wie Brigitte Fassbaender, Renée Fleming, Dame Gwyneth Jones, Christa Ludwig, dem Enkel von Richard Strauss - Christian Strauss und Franz Welser-Möst. Christoph Wagner-Trenkwitz entpuppt sich als zweiter Marcel Prawy, ohne diesen zu kopieren. Er erzählt mit solcher Begeisterung von R. Strauss, dass man einfach mitgerissen wird. Die Tonbeispiele stammen aus eher neueren Produktionen, sind aber sehr interessant - Denoke als Salome, Iréne Theorin als Elektra, Pieczonka und Kirchschlager im Rosenkavalier etc. Eine wunderschöne, informative DVD.
