Peter went to the University at Buffalo, where he studied Dungeons & Dragons, fencing, and girls. Somehow, he also managed to earn a (totally useful!) Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in Art History in 1995. Following college, Peter spent approximately 8 months managing a comic shop and pondering what to do with his life. He then went into medical publishing, squandering ten years of his physical prime sitting in a cubicle. He contented himself with writing books he never hoped to sell. In June of 2007, his hard work and perseverance paid off, as he sold his 4th novel, THE PAINTED MAN, and in October of 2007, he left his day job to pursue writing full time. He lives in Brooklyn NY with his wife Dani and two cats, Jinx and Max Powers.Portrait

Danach arbeitete er zehn Jahre als Lektor für medizinische Fachliteratur, bevor er sich endgültig dem Schreiben von fantastischen Romanen widmete. Der Autor lebt heute mit seiner Familie in Brooklyn, New York.

Brett, schafft er mit „The Desert Speart“ einen würdigen Fortsetzungsroman und kommt in der Riege der besten Fantasyautoren endgültig an.
Zwar geht die Geschichte etwas langsam los und die Handlung setzt auch nicht direkt am Ende der ersten Romans an, aber je weiter die Geschichte geht, desto fesselnder und vielschichtiger wird sie.
Die Geschichte beginnt mit dem Leben von Jardir dem Wüstensohn, welche sich selbst als den Erlöser ansieht und der Arlen im ersten Teil zum Sterben in der Wüste liegen lassen hat. Man erfährt von seiner Ausbildung und seinem Weg an die Macht.
Nach ca. 300 Seiten ist man an einem bekannten Punkt der Geschichte angekommen und die Handlung wird weiter geführt und Arlen und seine Freunde treten in den Vordergrund.
Nach der Geschichte um Jardir, welche spannend ist (trotz vieler Eigennamen), geht es wieder etwas ruhiger weiter und man braucht ein paar Seiten um wieder gefangen zu werden.
Aber auch hier, ist es nur eine kurze Phase und man giert nach mehr Infos und Handlung.
Alles in allem wird die Geschichte immer tiefer, die Charaktere bekommen immer mehr Leben und es treten auch neue Personen in den Vordergrund. Man kann gespannt sein, wie es weitergeht und am liebsten möchte man sofort den nächsten Roman von Peter V. Brett in die Hand nehmen.
